Aalden is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe, part of the Coevorden municipality. The village is divided into two parts, separated by a street called Aelderstraat. On one side of the village is the Oud-Aalden which consists of Saksische farms and was established to protect the rural area. The other side of the village is built in a modern fashion.
Aalden has several activities which attract tourists. There is a bungalow park Aelderholt and a golf area De Gelpenberg. There is also a large reception center. Another tourist attraction is the corn mill. Jantina Hellingmolen. Among other things Aalden has a library, a public and protestant primary school, a supermarket with a mail agency, a bakery and several public places.
